If you're doing your own makeup, it is a good idea to schedule a makeup lesson with a licensed professional to teach you everything you need to know about bridal makeup and makeup in general. This will give you confidence and knowledge that will last way past your wedding day."
"Don't neglect your eyebrows, but don't do them yourself. Your brows frame your face, so let a professional take care of your brows. It's also a good idea to get them done days before so there's no redness."
Wear the correct shade of foundation. The best way to figure this out is in 'natural' daylight. Never make a decision about foundation unless you've applied it to your jawline first and looked at it in daylight. The color should blend and look like it disappeared."
"When shimmer is applied just the right way, it adds to the beautiful, natural glow you already have. However, when too much shimmer is used, it can make your face look sweaty or oily -- especially in wedding photographs. To keep it looking natural, apply the shimmer to only one place. Also, just give it a light dust to avoid the sweaty look!"

HOW HIRING A MAKEUP ARTIST CAN SAVE YOU MONEY?
For many brides, hiring the right makeup artist can actually save money. If you aren’t sure how to get the look you want and don’t wear makeup regularly, by the time you buy enough products to put together the right look - you could have paid for your makeup artist! No way, right?
Well, consider this. First of all, if you haven’t been working with someone to perfect your complexion, you will need a color corrector, a concealer, a primer, a foundation, and a powder…before you even get to the color! Which shades do you buy? Can you bring them back if they’re wrong for your skintone? And then – who has the time to bring them back? Yikes!
The right makeup artist can help you get your skin in tiptop shape and will have the right colors in her kit. She will know if you can skip the concealer and if you need a yellow or peach corrector for any discoloration under your eyes. She will know that a basic concealer can reflect an unwanted pop of white under your eyes with the flash. She will also know how to make your eyes stand out in a way that you probably never even tried. It may mean blending four or five shades of colors - which is expensive if you purchase that many shades to get the same look yourself. Every woman knows that finding that perfect lipstick is like finding the perfect pair of jeans. In a consultation we try on several different shades to find the one that works the best. A good makeup artist has the experience and the supplies to get it right. My brides also receive a free tube of lipstick for their wedding day to have with them for touch-ups as needed. Most importantly, however, is the artful hand your makeup artist uses in contouring and highlighting the natural structure of your face to enhance your most beautiful features and play down those that aren’t your favorites.
If you are planning a wedding, hiring a makeup artist can save you money, and it will save you time!
